Aldona M. Morris, 85, of Duryea, died August 17, 2008 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late William and Johanna Coolbaugh. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. Prior to her retirement in 1984, she was employed by General Dynamics Corp., Eynon. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Duryea, and was a lifetime member of its Confraternity of Christian Women.
She was the devoted wife of Allen J. Morris, who passed away on November 29, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, William, Joseph, Edward, Veto and John, and four sisters, Mildred Molesky, Eleanor Swetlick, Joanne Marcin and Beatrice Savulis.
Surviving are her two loving daughters, Beverly Scalise and her husband, James, of Pittsboro, NC; Kate Scandiffio and her husband, Michael, of Los Angeles, California; a loving sister, Mercedes McHale, of Duryea; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was August 22 from the Piontek Funeral Home, Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Duryea. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
