The team of Bill Briggs and Barry White won the first annual Founders Day Classic this past weekend at Emanon Golf Club. The event, held in a better ball of partners format, was a three-day affair.
Briggs and White captured medalist honors on Friday with a 7-under par round of 63 and continued their hot play throughout the weekend by finishing with a three-day total of 197 (13 under par) besting the team of Len Coleman and Vince Scarpetta by 2 strokes.
Mike Lazevnick and Jim Jake (209) finished third while Guy Fasciana and Ron Dietrick (209) rounded out the championship flight.
First Flight honors were won by Jerry and Kevin Stankiewicz with a score of 212 followed by Kevin McCracken- Ron Garrison (216), Jerry Gavin- Tom Kerrigan (216) and John Tracy-Jason Mustapich (217).
Second Flight went to Rich Amico-John Engelman (224) followed by Kuzmick-Hitchcock (224), Jakubos-Gross (226) and Joe Ashley-Joe Biago (226).
Third Flight went to Rick Laneski-John Angelella with a 225. Other winners were Dave Zezza-Ed Polak (229), Tom Jorda-Wes Stelevich (232) and Degilio-Gilmartin (232).
Fourth Flight went to the team of Jim (Jimbo) Alba- Bob McGuire with a total of 235. They were followed by Bob Klush-Jerry Charney (236), Kizis-Zambo (236) and John LaNunziata- Judge Joe Carmody (238).
The final flight was taken by the team of Hopkins-Ray with a 245 total. Mayer-Rosencrans took second with a 246 as Clem Parulis-John Polak took third and Dave Begliomini-Tony Pisano took fourth each scoring 248.
