Joseph L. Knick Jr., 86, of Dupont, died June 16, 2008 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Dupont, May 17, 1922, he was a son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Kaspriski) Knick. He was a member of Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Church, Dupont. He attended Dupont High School. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific, Joseph retired in 1984 from Interstate Dress Carrier, Plains. He was also a member of the AMVets of Dupont and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4909 of Dupont.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucille (Jezorski); his son, Joseph III, and his wife, Allison, Harding; a daughter, Marlene Nesgoda, Dupont; brothers Stanley and his wife, Helen, Dupont; and Bernard and his wife, Sally, Suscon; sisters Lottie Kociolek, Bethlehem, and Celia Iacona, Hughestown. Joe is also survived by grandchildren Katelynn and Rebecca Knick; Christina Nesgoda; Brian and his wife, Tracy Nesgoda; and Lori and her husband, Glenn Charnogursky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Edward, John, Frank and Peter, and son-in-law Frank Nesgoda.
Funeral services were held June19 from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Duryea, with Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Church, Dupont. Interment, parish cemetery. AMVets Honor Guard of Dupont conducted military services.
