Stanley P. Kenia Jr., 80, of Clarks Summit, died September 23, 2008 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. He and his wife, the former Frances Stahoski, were married on June 24, 1972.
Born in Duryea, he was a son of the late Stanley and Sophie Galushka Kenia Sr. He attended Newton Ransom Schools. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was formerly employed by the former Kurlancheeks, Duryea, and prior to his retirement he was employed by Akzo Nobel, Clarks Summit. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Duryea, where he served as an usher. He resided in Clarks Summit since 1970. Prior to that he resided in Somerville, NJ.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie; and a granddaughter, Sheryl.
Also surviving are daughters Kathleen Kaminsky and her husband, Kevin, of Stroudsburg; Diana Makowski and her husband, Dennis, of Somerville, NJ; Deborah Felice and her husband, Glenn, of Down Brook, NJ; son Thomas H. Kenia Sr. and his wife, Lynn, of Sterling, Pa., John Valko Jr., of Chalfont; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers Henry Kenia and his wife, Marlene, of Hackettstown, NJ, William Kenia and his wife, Linda, Florida; a sister, Carolyn Nowakowski, of Falls; an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral was Sept. 27 from the Piontek Funeral Home, Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea. Interment, Parish Cemetery, Duryea.
