John E. James, 45, of Avoca, died Oct. 24, 2008, at home.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, May 23, 1963, and was a son of Paul G. James Sr., of Fairmount Township, and the late Shirley MacLaney James. He graduated from Bishop Hoban High School in 1981 and was employed by Golden Technologies, Avoca. John served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer.
Surviving in addition to his father, are a daughter; Sarah James, Wilkes-Barre; companion Nora Breitenstein, Avoca; brothers Paul G. James Jr., Wilkes-Barre, and Mark James, Nanticoke.
A memorial service was held Oct. 29 from the Swanson Funeral Home, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Dennis Gray, pastor of the Huntsville Christian Church, and the Rev. Craig Gomer, pastor of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, officiating.
