Anna Javage, 95, formerly of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, died July 21, 2008 in Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Parsons, on July 26, 1912, she was a daughter of the late John and Veronica Ashman. She was a life member of St. Francis Church, Miners Mills. She attended Wilkes-Barre schools and in her early years she was employed by Fernbaugh Silk Mill. She was also a member of the Plains Senior Citizens Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sr., who died in 1981; son, Albert Jr., who died in 1989; and brothers, William and John.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara Zawoiski, Poconos; Patricia Filipski, Mesa, AZ; Betty Smigiel, Old Forge; Rita Dehaba, Duryea; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were July 26 from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Duryea, with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Church, Miners Mills. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
