Four medals, two gold for Mia

Mikayla (Mia) Nardone, 10, won a gold medals for her first place finishes in the 50 yard Butterfly and the 25 yard Backstroke in the 9-10 age group Keystone State Games last month in York.
The golds were two of four medals Nardone brought home. She also won bronze in the 50 yard freestyle and bronze in the 50 yard breaststroke. She placed fourth in the 100 yard I.M. She qualified to swim in the 2009 State Games of America in Colorado Springs.
Mia is a member of the Wilkes-Barre CYC Sea Lions Swim Team. Most recently she swam with the Wilkes-Barre CYC Rally Aquatics Club Summer Program. In addition to her swim accomplishments, Mia also plays the piano and clarinet.
Mia is the daughter of Ralph and Lisa Nardone, Pittston. She is the granddaughter of Rita Nardone and the late John Nardone of Pittston and the late Peggy Byerly Evankavitch of Taylor.
