Kimberly Charney and Stephen Serge were united in marriage on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston by the Reverend Michael Piccola.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Carol Charney, West Pittston and the granddaughter of Mrs. Cecelia Delaney, Pittston and the late Raymond Delaney and Leonard Charney, West Pittston and the late Mrs. Helen Charney. The groom is the son of Raymond and Barbara Serge, Clarks Summit and the grandson of Mrs. Jean Gubanics, Scranton and the late Peter Gubanics and Mrs. Tanwen Serge, Scranton and the late Stephen Serge.
The bride, escorted by her father, chose her sister-in-law, Cheryl Charney, West Wyoming, as her matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Cindy Serge, Clarks Summit, sister-in-law of the groom and Mistie Charney of West Wyoming, niece of the bride. The flower girl was Sarah Charney, Augusta, Georgia, cousin of the bride.
The groom chose his brother Christopher Serge, Clarks Summit, as his best man. Groomsmen were Jay Charney, West Wyoming and Jeffrey Charney, Pittston, brothers of the bride and Drew Micco, Richmond, Virginia best friend of the groom. Junior ushers were Kyle Charney and Brandon Charney, West Wyoming, nephews of the bride. The ring bearer was Gavin Serge, Clarks Summit, nephew of the groom.
A bridal shower, hosted by Carol Charney and Barbara Serge, mothers of the bride and groom, was held at Fox Hill Country Club, West Pittston. An evening cocktail hour and reception was held at the Scranton Cultural Center, Scranton.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a B.S. in Marketing and Keystone College with a Post Baccalaureate certificate in Elementary Education. She is a substitute teacher in the Abington Heights School District.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a B.A. in Communications and is self-employed.
Following a honeymoon to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple resides n Clarks Summit.
