Agnes P. Masley, 89, Exeter, died November 25, 2008, at the Valley Crest Nursing Home, Plains Township.
Born in Exeter, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna Zurenda Malenda. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Exeter Post. Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Consolidated Cigar Co., West Pittston, for 26 years and she had also worked at Luzerne Products.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Kurutz, in 2004; a grandson, Donald Kurutz Jr.; and a granddaughter, Tina Marie Kurutz.; brothers George, Joseph and Michael; John and Adam Malenda; and sisters Irene Stanlus, Margaret Hatrak, Anna Grimas, Veronica Yadnak and Kate Jarrett.
Surviving are her son, Andrew Kurutz, Pittston; eight grandchildren, Brian Kurutz, David Kurutz, Michael Kurutz, Stephen Kurutz, Walter Kurutz, Kristina McGeer, Tammy Tokach and Heather Evans; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Betty Yadnak, Endwell, NY, and Pauline Smith, Vestal, NY.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St.. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Interment, St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schooley Street, Exeter.
