Ann Marie Gilligan, 80, of Luzerne Towers, died August 12, 2008 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, where she was a patient for two months.
Born in Wyoming, she was a daughter of the late James and Helen Judge Gilligan. She was employed in resorts in Florida, New Hampshire, and for 38 years, in the Poconos.
She was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Orlando, West Wyoming; brothers Jack, Connecticut; Bernard and James, Wyoming; nephews Bernard Gilligan Jr. and John Allen, Orlando, NY; stepmother Sophie Hontz.
She is survived by stepsisters Dorothy Lambert and Barbara Gilligan, North Carolina; 20 nieces and nephews; 44 great-nieces and great-nephews; 40 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and two great-great-great-nieces.
Funeral services were Aug. 14 from the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Holy Family Church, Luzerne. Entombment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
