Florence T. Coleman, 83, a resident of Laird Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday morning, April 27, 2008, at the Hospice Inpatient Care Unit of the Visiting Nurse Association, at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Wilkes-Barre, on Feb. 3, 1925, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Gnutek Olszewski. She attended Wilkes-Barre public schools and had been employed at the American Tobacco Corporation, Lee Park, Hanover Township. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Laflin, and was an avid bingo player at the Plains Senior Citizens Center.
She has been preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Olszewski and a sister, Helen Jaskiewicz.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, John Coleman; brother, Lawrence Olszewski and his wife, Amelia, Mountain Top; sisters, Lottie Sikora, Laflin; Josephine Yamilkoski, Shickshinny; Louise Zawatski and her husband, Edward, Wilkes-Barre; Irene Stook, Wilkes-Barre; niece, Mary Lou Roos, Wilkes-Barre; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were April 30 from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre. A funeral Mass followed in St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. Interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
