Susan Thier, 89, of Kingston, has fallen asleep in the Lord on Thanksgiving, November 27, 2008, at the HCR Manor Care, Kingston, where she was a resident for the last four years.
She was born April 12, 1919, in Courtdale, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Stanko Watlock. She was a lifelong resident of Kingston. Prior to her retirement in 1979, she was employed by General Cigar Corp., Kingston for more than 30 years. She was a faithful and lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Edwardsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Thier, in 1989, and by three sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are her son, William, Wyoming; brother, Andrew Watlock and his wife, Geraldine, Kingston; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, 717 Main St., Edwardsville with Requiem services at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Zerby Ave., Edwardsville, with the Rev. Martin Browne, Pastor, and her nephew, Hiermonk Michael Their officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. A Parastas service will be held at 6 p.m.
