Alexandria (Dudzik) Kurre, 89, of Pittston, formerly of Dupont, died December 22, 2008 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Dupont, on August 8, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Pienta) Dudzik. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, and the Women of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society. She attended Dupont schools and worked many years for the Ideal Toy Co., Hollis Queens, NY. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and enjoyed taking part in activities at Sacred Heart Church.
She is survived by her son, Joseph, and his wife, Cheryl, Pittston; her brother, Paul, Old Forge; sisters, Ann Chmielewski, Dupont; Bernadine Sokolowsky, Pittston; Antoinette Haduck, Taylor; Barbara Dudzik, Colorado, and Theresa Tremblay, Alabama. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Maximilian Kurre, who passed away in 1991; brothers, Stanley and Adam; sisters, Estelle Milos, Mary Mozdzierz, Stephania Fabiano, Cecilia Pierce and Sherry Constance Meek.
Funeral services were Dec. 27 from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Duryea, with Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. Interment, parish cemetery.
