The Pittston Area Four-Year-Old program held its final monthly meeting of the 2007-2008 school year on May 12, 13 and 14. During the meeting, the children enjoyed activities centered around the literary favorite, I You Give A Mouse A Cookie, by Laura Joffe Numeroff. Each Month the meeting contains a different theme focusing on reading readiness and language development. Together as a team the children and parents work to develop the skills necessary for entering kindergarten. The program will be accepting registration for all new four year olds for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year now and throughout the summer. All four year olds who live in the Pittston Area School District are welcome to register for this cost-free program. Anyone interested in registering for the 08-09 school year, please contact the Kindergarten Center at 654-0503. We look forward to hearing from you.
