No recycling Monday

Hughestown residents are reminded that newspapers will not be colleted on Monday due to the holiday. Please place papers at curbside the evening before collection. At times papers are not being collected due to the placement at later time.
Grass clippings are collected on Wednesday. Bags that are too heavy are not picked up. Place at curbside, three container limit, and not heavier than 30 pounds. Bags not collected are too heavy and cannot be picked up and placed in truck.
Building permits are place in a container in the borough building at desk. All information is there.
A memorial wreath will be placed by Mayor Paul Hindmarsh on Monday morning.
Mayor Hindmarsh has asked council members to attend the Lackawanna Luzerne Hazard Mitigation Plan to be held May 28 at Quality Inn, formerly Victoria Inn, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested may also attend.
Complaints are being received about dust, dirt on the roadway on Grandview Drive from the new development. Police will check the area for the problem.
Permission has been given to Pittston Area to canvas in the Borough May 31.
