In celebrating National Nurses Week the staff of Highland Manor Nursing Home will host a blood drive in honor of their long time friend and colleague, Henry Zielinski. The event will be held on Thursday, May 8, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the nursing home, 750 Schooley Avenue, Exeter.
Zielinski worked at the Exeter facility for several decades and was a friend to many, both staff and residents. Administrator Richard Lee is proud to host an event that will have a positive impact on the community as well as honor a special person.
In addition to his work at Highland Manor, Zielinski was a volunteer at Wyoming Hose Company #2, served on the Board of Directors of Luzerne County Transit Authority and was an active member of the Democratic Party.
The event is sponsored in conjunction with the Wyoming Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross Donors who are 16 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in relatively good health may give blood every 56 days.
