William D. Carver Jr., formerly of West Pittston, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at his home in Kingston.
He was born in West Pittston, May 18, 1942, a son of Dorothy Huthmaker Carver and the late William D. Carver, Sr. He was a 1960 graduate of West Pittston High School and a 1964 Graduate of Wilkes College. Mr. Carver was a Licensed Certified Public Accountant for 46 years and was the owner of Carver and Associates LLC, Wyoming.
He was a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Pennsylvania Certified Public Accountants. He was a former board member and regional director at Wachovia Bank. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Pittston, a member of Valley Lodge 499, F&A.M., West Pittston, Irem Temple, Dallas and a member of Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter. He was an Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Charlotte Strubeck Carver, in 1992
He is also survived by his wife, the former Marion Pheasant; sons, Chris and his wife, Karyn, Shavertown; Brad and his wife, Marie, Shavertown; daughter, Amy Lee Sitler and her husband, Matthew, Lehighton; grandchildren, Christopher and Kaylee Carver, Claudia and Lucas Carver, Kerry Sitler; sister, Sandra Tamalenus, Fairport, N.Y.
The funeral was August 13 at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, West Pittston. The Rev. Janet Tiebert officiated. Interment, Mountain View Burial Park, Harding.
