Benjamin F. Murawski, 81, of Port Griffith, died November 8, 2008, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Port Griffith, a son of the late William and Mary Lis Murawski. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was in the 313th Engineer Combat Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion Post 588, Plains, and Polish American Veterans, Plains. Prior to retirement, he worked in construction for GAFC Wagman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; sisters Carolyn Whyte and Mary Bobus; and brothers Frank Koziel and Lou Koziel.
Surviving are a sister, Sophie Kudlacik, Clifton, NJ; brother Walter Murawski, Luzerne; sister Marcella Cilwik, Massachusetts; and sister Sister Mary Ludgarde, Reading; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Nov. 13 from the Bednarski Funeral Home, Wyoming, with Monsignor John J. Bendik officiating. Interment, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
