John M. Alapick, 59, of Courtdale, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at his home, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family in love. His wife of 38 years is Debra Carr Alapick.
He was born January 9, 1949, in Kingston. He was a son of the late George and Mary Cimbak Alapick. He was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. He was employed by Schott Glass Technologies, Duryea. He also was employed by Owens-Illinois, Pittston.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert; and brother Raymond Alapick.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Debra, are children John Alapick, Harveys Lake; Jill Miller and husband John, Oakdale, Conn.; Laurie Alapick, Courtdale; Robert Alapick, Hanover Township; grandson Jacob Miller; brother George Alapick, Leola; sister Jean Sanders, Apalachin, N.Y.; and mother-in-law Vi Carr, Courtdale.
Funeral was held Jan. 31, from the Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, Edwardsville, with Pastor Theodore Gabriel, of Courtdale United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Maple Hill Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
