Emma S. Worth, 97, formerly of Kingston, died December 20, 2008, at the Little Flower Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Augusto Sabatini and Zelinda Costanzi Sabatini Casoni. She was a graduate of Plains High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She had worked for the Lazarus Department Store and the Wilkes-Barre Credit Bureau. She eventually worked as a bookkeeper for the Westmoreland Club and finally as a stenographer and bookkeeper for the Pettebone Estate. She was involved in charitable work with the Salvation Army and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Salvation Army.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Walter Worth, in 1973; and brothers Louis Sabatini, Boni (Fortunato) Sabatini; and sister Clara Sannipoli; and a granddaughter, Joella Frederick.
Surviving are her son, Joseph, and his wife, Elia Frederick, Oldsmar, FL; and a daughter, Bonita Frederick, Dallas, TX; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Gubbiotti Funeral Home, Exeter.
