FALLS CENTER

The Falls Active Center will be hosting the Pa. Secretary of Aging Brian Duke from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Aug.12. He will be answering questions from 10:15-11 a.m. After that he will be touring the center to see the activities that we offer here.

There will be a Drum Circle and Wii bowling as well as displays of the projects that we work on here at the center, including our crocheting club’s articles for the home bound and our garden project. Anyone who wishes is welcome to attend.

The Falls Active Adult Center invites anyone 55+ to the following activities: Mondays, 10:00-11:30 a.m. Wii bowling competition with Tunkhannock Center (alternating sites); Mondays, 1-2 p.m. Crocheting Club (all levels welcome); Tuesdays and Fridays, 11-11:45 a.m. “Healthy Steps” exercise program; Wednesdays, 10-10:45 a.m. Walking group; Wednesdays, 1-2 p.m. Garden Club; Tuesdays, Brain games at lunch; Thursdays, Nutrition talks at lunch; Fridays, 9-noon, Geocaching activity.

Anyone wishing to join us for a hot noon meal for a suggested donation of $2 should RSVP to Twila at 388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before. The Center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

COSMOPOLITANS

The Cosmopolitan Seniors Club is in it’s 38th year and anyone 50 years or older interested in joining a senior group is welcome to come and be our guest at one of the meetings. The club is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation or place of residence; and meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month, at 1 p.m., in St. Anthony’s Parish center, Exeter, which is a modern, handicapped accessible facility, with ample parking. Occasional “Speakers” make presentations on timely topics, some seasonal luncheon parties are held, and a monthly Casino trip and varied day trips are enjoyed by members and non-members.

Activities after the meeting include refreshments followed by an hour of Bingo. A Casino trip is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14 to Mt. Airy. Pickups in Exeter and Pittston. You do not have to be a member to come on these trips.

ST. JOSEPH’S

St Joseph’s Senior Social Club will not have a meeting in August. The next meeting will be Sept. 19. Servers will be Josephine Faciana. Jennie Figel, Emily Gorski and Gloria DeRosa. New members always welcome.
