We, the faith filled community of Holy Rosary School, offer our most sincere gratitude to everyone who made our “Back to School” Mass so beautiful.
It was a joy, as always, to have Father Andrew Sinnott as our celebrant; additionally, we are grateful to our regional pastors, priests, and deacons – Monsignor John Bendik, Father Carlos Esquivel, Father John Shearer, Deacon Jim Cortegerone and Deacon Santo Agolino – who were able to celebrate the Mass with us. TMembers of the eighth-grade class of 2014, under the guidance of Mrs. Debbie Brady, were reverent leaders of worship. One of our greatest blessings is the music of our HRS Choir, under the direction of Miss Maryssa Lewko, Mrs. Debbie Brady and Mrs. Lauren Gedrich. It is truly inspirational.
We were grateful for this opportunity to remember our beloved friend, Mrs. Helen Burke. Mrs. Candice Lee, principal, began the liturgical celebration with a warm welcome and a beautiful blessing for students, faculty, staff, and families.
We are grateful that our 2013-14 academic year is off to a blessed start under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Kindergarten screening will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16.
What a great time to stock up on Christmas gifts. The Book Fair will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Sept. 17 and 18. If you are interested in volunteering to work the Book Fair, call the office at 457-2553. Children will have the opportunity to shop during the school day.
Excitement is in the air as our students prepare to show off their love of Holy Rosary School to some of the most special people in their lives: their beloved grandparents. The Grandparents’ Luncheon is held from 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. If you have not returned your RSVP to your child’s teacher, please do so immediately.
Please try to join us from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Outback Steak House at 547 Arena Hub, just behind Olive Garden, for this simple and delicious fundraiser. Remember your Holy Rosary form from the family envelope to be given to Outback. Additionally, feel free to copy the form and give to your family and friends. The more the merrier and the more money we will raise to provide “extras” for our children throughout the academic year.
Please return your completed lunch menu and payment for the month of October by Friday, Sept. 20. We are unable to accept menu returns past this date due to ordering time lines.
Gift certificate sales are held in the Holy Rosary Church Hall from 8 to 10 a.m. each Thursday. School families may send in orders on Wednesday to be filled on Thursday.
The Holy Rosary Student Council will collect ring tabs for the Ronald McDonald House throughout the school year. Send them to school with your children.
In addition to cartridge recycling we also have cell phone recycling. Select cell phones can be dropped off in the same location and recycled for credit. For more information or for a list of qualifying cartridges, visit www.fundingfactory.com or contact Mrs. Skutack at 457-2553.
Labels, box tops
Campbell’s soup labels and Box Tops for Education are being collected at Holy Rosary School. These programs enable us to provide educational resources that may be unaffordable through our regular budget. They offer merchandise like computers, software, sports equipment, reference materials, science and art items, even musical instruments. Ccontinue your support of these programs by sending in your labels to the school office or by placing them in the church vestibule. If you have any questions, contact the school’s office. Also, please check labels for expiration dates. They can be sent in immediately and processed before they expire; there is no need to wait until you accumulate a quantity.
