Two Pittston parishes conduct Vacation Bible School

The annual Vacation Bible School sponsored by Our Lady of the Eucharist and St. John the Evangelist parishes concluded on Friday, June 28 with a closing program in Our Lady of the Eucharist Church. The Vacation Bible School, “Everywhere Fun Fair – Where God’s World Comes Together” – was coordinated by Sister Mary Ann Cody, IHM and was under the direction of Linda Day, Barbara Quinn, Tammie Galli, Joann McHale, Jane Serafin and Michael Sowa. They were assisted by Maurita Bartnikowski, Arlene Keegan, Joseph Mosley, Jean Mudlock, Joanne Petrochco, Dave Serafin, Mary Jo Triani and Dave Walker. There were 92 children enrolled in the Bible School and 25 students who served as group leaders and volunteers in the areas of crafts, games, music and Story Time. During the week, the children brought in paper goods, diapers and baby wipes to be donated to the Care and Concern Ministries housed in the Seton Catholic building. The pastors of the sponsoring parishes are Msgr. John Bendik and Father Thomas J. Maloney.
