Pittston’s downtown was alive Friday night as perfect weather contributed to making the city’s second “Second Friday” a big hit. Billy Jumper entertained an appreciative audience with his acoustic performance at the pocket park near Napoli’s Pizza. The new Tomato Festival bandshell featured live entertainment all evening. The staff of the soon-to-open NEPA Tattoo Club caught the attention of everyone. And the Majestic lunchroom, Main Street’s oldest continuous business, was jammed with customers enjoying “buy two, get one” specials and sharing lifelong memories of gathering at the Majestic. Pittston Area art students displayed their talent in one of the many tents lining both sides of Main Street while right across the street, couples savored gourmet meals under candlelight at Palazzo. From the Gramercy restaurant on South Main to the Greater Pittston YMCA on North, to the new Tomato Bistro on Spring Street, the town was abuzz. The next Second Friday will be July 12.
