Loretta P. (Warunek) Laskowski, 80, of Dupont, passed away Wednesday July 24, at the Regional Medical Center, Scranton. She was born in Dupont September 27, 1932 and was the daughter of the late John and Stephanie (Effie) Warunek.
Loretta was a member of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, Dupont. She worked many years in the local garment industry, She was affectionately know as “Polka Grandma” to her loving grandchildren, she will be sadly missed.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Adam P. who passed away in 1990, and her son Adam Jr. who died in 1982.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Marie and husband David of Bethlehem Pa, sons John and Jason of Dupont, grandchildren Melissa and her husband Michael Pirlis of Mt. Bethel, PA, Nicholas Chismar of Bethlehem Pa, her sister Eileen and her husband Albert Tibel, of Dupont, niece Alysia Tibel of Taylor Pa and Deborah and husband Greg Massey of Jericho, VT.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 29th at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc. 255 McAlpine St. Duryea. Due to renovations at Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, a mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30am at Queen Of The Apostles Church, Hawthorne St, Avoca, with Fr. Joseph Verespy officiating. Friends may call Sunday evening July 28th from 4-7pm. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family of Loretta Laskowski.
