Art is alive in Downtown Pittston.

The Second Friday Art Walk is set for 5 to 9 p.m. on July 12.

Rose Randazzo, the Main Street manager, said Eddie and the Dreamers will be featured in the bandshell on the Tomato Festival Lot.

She said 14 artists will be featured on the street.

“All different mediums,” she said. “They’ll all be doing demonstrations, too.”

Randazzo said local restaurants will offer food and drink specials and outdoor seating. The Boden outlet at Open Space will stay open late with a special sale.

Also, the new sculpture, the Tree of Life, should be installed in the new pocket park and students of Lino Terzi, owner of the Music Scene, will play instrumental music on violins, trumpets and other instruments.

Randazzo said an art map will be available at Art on Main, formerly ArtSeen, which shows all permanent art installations downtown.

“The downtown will be very walkable,” she said, adding that police will be on duty at the crosswalks.
