The High School sports season for the 2013-14 school year kicked off last week.
The biggest event heading into this week will be the first installment of the cross-river rivalry. Pittston Area will host Wyoming Area on Tuesday in girls tennis at the courts in Hughestown. Both teams are looking to build on sub-.500 seasons in 2012.
And let’s not forget football is kicking off. Both local teams will host scrimmages on Friday.
