Forty nine boys and girls, parishioners of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Duryea, received the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Rev. Andrew Sinnott, pastor, celebrated the 11 a.m. Mass at Holy Rosary Church. The children participated in the ministries by lectoring, cantoring, offering petitions and presenting gifts of bread and wine to be consecrated for their reception of Jesus in First Holy Communion. Father reminded them and their families that this was the first of many opportunities in the future to receive communion. The Mass concluded with the crowning of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
