JENKINS

The regular monthly meeting of the Jenkins Township Senior Citizens’ group will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Jenkins Township Fire Company Hall. Following the business meeting, members will enjoy the annual Corn Roast. Jim and Ruth Musto are in charge of this event. Hostesses for this meeting are Pat Rinish and Bernice Podrosky.

President, Jean Mudlock, will preside. Bingo will follow. Membership is always open for anyone wishing to join the group.

COSMOPOLITAN

The Cosmopolitan Seniors next meeting is at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

A Casino trip is planed for Sept. 11 to Mt. Airy with pickups in Exeter and Pittston. You do not have to be a member to come on these trips. Details can be obtained from Johanna at 655-2720.

FALLS

The Falls Active Adult Center sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne/Wyoming counties invites anyone 55 and older to the following activities:

Mondays: 10-11:30 a.m. Wii bowling competition with Tunkhannock Center ( alternating sites); 1-2 p.m. Crocheting Club (all levels welcome). Tuesdays and Fridays: 11:15-11:45 a.m. “Healthy Steps” exercise program. Wednesdays: 10-10:45 a.m. Walking group.; Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch.; Thursdays: Nutrition talks at lunch.; Fridays: 9 a.m.- noon Geocaching activity.

Thursday, Sept. 12: Active Aging Day at Market Square in Wilkes-Barre, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging.

Saturday, Sept. 14 : Art Show and Bake Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m; Sunday, Sept. 15, Art Show and Bake Sale, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Meet and Greet the artistis receptiom from 3-5 p.m. The Falls Lions Club will be selling hot dogs and hamgurgers on site on Sunday only.

Tuesday, Sept. 24: Master Gardener Roberta Troy will give a presentation at 11 a.m. entitled ” Gardening is for the Birds.”

Thursday, Sept. 26: A representative from Golden Living Center will give a presentation on Falls Prevention at 11 a.m. A free blood pressure screening will be available.

Anyone wishing to join us for a hot meal at noon for a suggested donation of $2 should RSVP to Twila at 388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before. The center is open from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. It is located on SR 92.
