Marissa Durako, daughter of Drew and Ann Marie Durako, of Laflin and a senior at Holy Redeemer High School, was crowned Miss Polish Women’s Alliance of America at the May Festival on Tuesday, May 14 in the King’s College Chapel. Durako was crowned by her grandmother, Florence Prociak, a life-long member of the Polish Women’s Alliance. Joanne Jones led the group in a prayer service during which Durako crowned the Blessed Mother. A reception was held for members of the Polish Women’s Alliance Council 40 following the ceremony.
