Dolores Zimmerman, 71, and a lifelong resident of Duryea, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Charles Zimmerman, on May 21, 1996. Born on Dec. 31, 1941, daughter of the late Samuel and Amanda Russell Bolock, Dolores was educated at the former Hughestown High School.

After an early career in the garment industry, she began raising her family. A caring woman with a big heart, she was very active at the Crossin Towers in Duryea, where she helped the residents in various ways. She was a longtime member of the Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, in Avoca.

She is survived by two children, her son, Scott Zimmerman, Scranton, and her daughter, Karen Cerulli, Pittston; five siblings, her brother, Robert Bolock, and wife Lucy, Old Forge; four sisters, Charlotte Hughes, Inkerman, Leola Bartush, Scranton; Evelyn Gutowski, Avoca; Marcella Creedon, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas and Jennifer Cerulli, and Julia Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.; sisters, Betty Nossavage, Sarah Paltanavage, Margie Green and Theresa Webb also preceded her in death.

Services will be held at Shrine Cemetery in Dallas and are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dolores’ name to Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, 1001 Main St., Avoca, PA 18641.
