The Greater Pittston YMCA recently received a $10,200 grant from The Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The YMCA will partner with the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute (NRCI) to offer T.H.R.I.V.E – To Help Restore and Increase Vitality Through Exercise – an individualized exercise and nutrition program for patients facing cancer treatment and recovery. The Foundation’s grant will make the program available to 20 limited income residents of Lackawanna, Luzerne and Wyoming Counties who would otherwise not be able to participate.

The program will include weekly group exercise classes, one-on-one personal training sessions and nutritional counseling.
