Holy Redeemer High School inducted 73 new members of the National Honor Society, Holy Redeemer Chapter. They join 65 current members inducted last year.

New members were inducted at a school assembly, which included a candle lighting service by society officers and blessing of the National Honor Society pins by Chaplain Rev. Joseph Elston. Members were inducted by Principal Anita Sirak and Vice Principals Abe Simon and Michael Booth.

A student must be a junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and meet standards in all four areas. Officers for the 2011-2012 school year were also introduced at the ceremony. Officers are David Wert, president, Wilkes-Barre; Angeli Nause, vice president, Swoyersville; Cody Januszko, secretary, Wilkes-Barre; Patrick Loftus, treasurer, Mountaintop.
