The Board of Supervisors notify Pittston Township residents that effective June 6 Pittston Township will participate in the Greater Pittston Regional Compost Program with its facility located in Dupont, PA. The Township will provide curbside pickup as follows:

Yard Waste will be picked up the first and third Tuesday of each month in Upper and Lower Browntown, Cork Lane including Tedrick and Market Streets west of the By-Pass, Stauffer Heights, Center Street,Laurel Street. Doty Street and Mill Street, Horizon Estates, Stauffer Pointe. Second and fourth Tuesday of each month in Butler Heights and Highway 315. Suscon, Langans Road, Pocono Ridge Estates, Houston City, Packer Street, Glendale and Route 502, Quail Hill.

Tree branches – must be bundled and tied and be no more than 6” in diameter. Other yard waste – must be in containers which do not weight over 30 Ibs. Other yard waste consists of only grass, leaves and garden debris.

Residents must call the township building to arrange to have their yard waste picked up between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at least twenty four hours prior to the scheduled pick up date.

Rules and regulations of the Greater Pittston regional compost program are only Municipalities will be allowed to dump yard waste at the facility. Compost material will be provided to residents of Pittston Township free of charge. A $ 10 fee will be charged to residents who wish to have small pick-up trucks loaded by the facility.
