Falls Active Adult Center

The Falls Active Adult Center sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne/Wyoming Counties invites anyone 55+ to the following activites:

Mondays: 10 to 11:30 a.m. – Wii bowling competition with Tunkhannock center ( alternating sites).

Mondays: 1 to 2 p.m. – Crocheting Club (all levels welcome).

Tuesdays and Fridays: 11 to 11:45 a.m. – “Healthy Steps” exercise program.T his program is designed to improve balance and strenghten muscles to help with fall prevention.

Wednesdays: 10 to 10:45 a.m. – Walking group.

Wednesdays: 1 to 2 p.m. – Garden Club.

Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch.

Thursdays: Nutrition talks at lunch.

Thursday, July 11 – Free blood pressure screening by Susan Anderson from Golden Living Center.

Friday, July 12th – Drum Circle led by drummer Al Cabral from 12:4 to 2 p.m. You don’t need any experience to participate.

Monday, July 15 – Vocal Accord Barbershop Quartet in concert at 1 p.m.

Wednesday, July 17- 10 a.m. to noon, Japanese Brush Writing. Class given by Atsuko McHale. This class is followed with July birthday celebration at lunch.

Thursday, July 25 – Country Western Day lunch and party.

Cosmopolitan Seniors

The Cosmopolitan Seniors next meeting is at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 in St. Anthony’s Center. Hosts/hostesses are Florence Aquilina, Irene Kovaleski, John Kovaleski, Bill Kull, Mary Ann Kull and Irene Parini.

A trip to Sands Casino is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11 with a $35 rebate and pickups in Exeter and Pittston. Non-members welcome.
