Full Gospel Chapel of Avoca is sponsoring a St. Pauly Textile, Inc. used clothing shed in the church parking lot. Community members donate clothing by placing it in the shed. Receipts for tax deductions are stored in a mailbox on the shed. The clothing donations are distributed in the US and internationally. St. Pauly’s then gives funding in return for clothing collected in the shed. Be sure to donate good usable clothing.

Re-registration letters and forms are being prepared to be mailed to the parents of all those children enrolled in last year’s Religious Education Program. We ask that you complete the necessary paperwork and return the forms to the parish office by August 15th. Registration packets for those children who will be new to the program can be found at the back of the Church or may be accessed online at the parish webpage. We remind parents that Sacramental Preparation Programs are two years. Those children planning on receiving First Holy Communion must have been enrolled in Religious Education or attending a Catholic school during the 2012-2013 school year. The Annual Parish Picnic will be held on Friday, July 12; Saturday, July 13 and Sunday July 14. An organizational meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, July 1 in the Parish Center. Picnic hours are 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, 5 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday 4 to 10 p.m.
A flea market will be included again this year in conjunction with the picnic. The church will begin collecting items this week.

Theme baskets – If you have donated a basket before, the committee asks you to please consider doing it again this year and if you have never donated, the committee is always looking for new creative baskets. Baskets can be dropped off at the rectory any time. Donations for the “Basket of Cheer” can also be dropped off at the rectory. Cooks, prep people and dishwashers are needed.
