A project group called Greater Pittston Tomorrow, a Leadership Wilkes-Barre Class of 2013 community group, is taking on several projects in the Greater Pittston area. They are refurbishing the Montgomery Avenue Park in West Pittston damaged by the 2011 Flood; renovating the after-school room at the Pittston YMCA; and helping the City of Pittston in purchasing a band shell.

On Jan. 19, GP Tomorrow is having a fundraiser at Brews Brothers East on River Road from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door the day of the event or at the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, 104 Kennedy Boulevard.

The ticket cost includes domestic draft beer, non-alcoholic beverages and appetizers.

There will also be live music and raffle tickets available for sale.

The park in West Pittston was significantly impacted by the flood and in its current state isn’t safe.

The Y after school program room is badly in need of supplies for the children, infrastructure and improvements (flooring, desks, closets, shelving, etc.).

The mobile band shell can be used by organizations in the Greater Pittston community.

Greater Pittston Tomorrow is on facebook for those wanting more information.
