Yatesville resident pens St. Patrick’s Day poem

Saint Patrick

A famous man and a special day,

when everyone feels like celebrating, and that’s okay

It’s a special tradition to wear something green,

a time to frolic, have a drink, but don’t get mean.

Everyone needs a cheering up,

get in your car, or in the old days giddyup.

Also during this time of Lent we give alms,

and soon at church, we Christians will receive palms.

Then our feast day will be over until next year,

and I will have a nice Easter with my dear.

In the meantime, a toast to St. Patrick is in order,

his legacy comes from Ireland, way beyond its border.

He must have been a very unique man,

because many stories abound today about him and the Irish clan.

So be nice on St. Patty’s as well as every other day,

it only comes once a year, so have fun with no dismay.
