Kristine Shimko and Thomas Shipp engagement


Kristine Shimko and Thomas Shipp, together with their families, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sherry Souchick and David of Hanover Township, and John Shimko and Darlene of Miners Mills. She is the granddaughter of Eleanor Shimko and Beverly Souchick and the late John Shimko, Charles and Betty Corrin, Joseph and Joan Snarski and Joseph Souchick.

The prospective groom is the son of Thomas and Bernice Shipp of Nanticoke. He is the grandson of Theresa Margalski of Nanticoke and the late Bernard and Mary Prushinski of Glen Lyon.

The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Hanover Area Jr./Sr. High School. She earned her associates degree in criminal justice from Gibbs New York City. She is pursuing a degree in nursing and is employed as a correctional officer at Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School. He earned his associates degree in criminal justice from Luzerne County Community College and is employed as a correctional officer at Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

The couple will exchange vows Oct. 22, 2016. An evening cocktail hour and reception will follow.
