Joan M. Beyer and Joseph P. O’Brien, together with their families, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mary Beth Beyer and the late Dennis Beyer of Hanover Township. Joan is the granddaughter of the late Jerome and Joan McKeown and the late Donald and Alice Beyer.

The intended bridegroom is the son of Joe and Lynn O’Malley DeNardi of Harding. He is the grandson of the late Joe O’Malley and Gail O’Malley Detato of Pittston. He is also the grandson of Emily DeNardi, Exeter and the late Elio DeNardi.

Joan is a 2006 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 2010 graduate of East Stroudsburg University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies and business management. Joan continued her education at Luzerne Community College where she received an associate’s degree in exercise science and fitness leadership. Joan graduated with a Master of Science degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 2013, with a focus on exercise science and health promotion. She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. Joan has recently accepted a full-time position as a personal trainer with ProFitness in Moosic. She was previously employed at Star Fitness, Edwardsville, as a full-time fitness instructor.

Joe is a 2007 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and a 2014 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. Joe is employed by Wild for Salmon, Bloomsburg, and Forks Farm, Benton.

The couple will be united in marriage on Oct. 8, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Swoyersville.
