Officials of the Pittston Memorial Library NEPA Intergenerational Coalition announces the ninth annual conference of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren is being held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at Genetti’s Best Western in Wilkes-Barre. Grandparents who are raising grandchildren are free.
The event includes a breakfast of donuts and coffee, tea, water and a full hot lunch. The cost is $35 for professional social service agency attendees with checks payable to the GRG Fund of the Luzerne Foundation. Continuing education credits are available through the Family Service Association of NEPA. The conference theme is trauma, grief, and loss.
Featured at the conference will be a welcome by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging Teresa Osborne, Dr. Joseph Crumbley, keynote speaker; and Jennifer Rogers, the Honorable Judge Court of Common Pleas in Luzerne County, who will be a second keynoter.
Other speakers will be State Representative Eddie Day Pashinski, Frank Mariano, Dr. Christine Kiesinger, and Rabbi Larry G. Kaplan of Temple Israel in Wilkes-Barre.
