Misericordia University has been selected to host Jason Best, Ph.D., a 2015-16 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow, during the fall semester for the beginning of his fellowship.

Dr. Best is a professor of astronomy and astrophysics at Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, West Virginia. He also serves as the university’s astrophysicist overseeing the Shepherd University Observatory.

He earned his baccalaureate degree in astronomy and astrophysics from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, and his doctoral degree in astronomy and astrophysics from Pennsylvania State University, State College.

Dr. Best will also work on a project for Misericordia that seeks to expand MU’s capabilities to help students who come to the University by nontraditional pathways to excel in the sciences.
