Cooler temperatures and rain coming to the Wyoming Valley

Break out the sweatshirts and umbrellas because cooler temperatures and rain will be making their way through the Wyoming Valley these next few days.

The National Weather Service reported it was 37 degrees at 6:54 a.m. at the Scranton Wilkes-Barre International Airport.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a high of 54 degrees and a low of 45 degrees tonight with scattered rain showers most likely between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. with a 60 percent precipitation rate.

There is a 90 percent chance of precipitation for Wednesday with rain and thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m. and a high of 63 degrees with a low of 55 degrees Wednesday evening.

Thursday will be a high of 59 degrees and see possible scattered showers after 2 p.m., but temperatures will drop to 41 degrees in the evening with a partly cloudy sky.
