Sunday, Oct. 4 the children and teens will participate in a “Parade of Nations” in full costume at 10:30 a.m. Speakers for this rally will be Rev. and Mrs. Irvin. The rally will include special music and drama, a visit from some puppets, and excerpts from the Alliance Video Magazine of missions work that is taking place around the world. The conference will close with an “international covered dish dinner” with everyone bringing a favorite dish from their ethnic background to share. There will be child-care provided during the evening and Sunday morning rallies.

A bus pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in celebration of the Feast Day of St. Mary Faustina will take place on Monday, Oct. 5. The bus will depart from the Oblates of St. Joseph Seminary at 7 a.m. with an estimated arrival time of 11 a.m. to the shrine. Cost is $63 per person and will include the bus trip, entrance fee to the shrine, a full course dinner at Michael’s Restaurant and the bus driver’s tip. Little Rock Scripture Study will have two programs on Tuesdays, one from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and one from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Both programs will be held in the parish hall at Our Lady of the Eucharist. The title of this study will be Life Eternal. There will be six sessions. In order to be able to order the necessary materials, call the parish office or e-mail to register. The program is open to all from the Greater Pittston area. Sessions will be held on Oct. 6, 13. Scripture books are available for pickup in the sacristy.

The Religious Education Program has begun. Classes for students in grades 1 through 7 are held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. All children enrolled in public or private schools along with those being home schooled should participate in religious education classes.

The Parish Pastoral Council well meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 in the Parish Hall.

Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish will be hosting an event on Drug and Alcohol awareness geared towards adolescents and adults at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Guest speaker will be Meredith Cosgrove, Licensed Social Worker and Certified Addictions Counselor.

The 58th Annual St. Jude Novena will be held from Monday, Oct. 19 through the Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish (St. Mary, Help of Christians Church), 535 North Main St., Pittston. There will be two services daily.

The Care and Concern Free Health Clinic is open every Wednesday and is free of charge. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in the former Seton Catholic High School and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Patients for The Pediatric Health Clinic are now being seen on the first Thursday and third Thursday of the month at Dr. Imbrogno’s office at 570-855-6035 until further notice. Children’s immunization records are required upon registration. Parents or guardians must be present to have their child examined. All services are free and confidential.
