Student council elections
Student council elections were held recently in grades 3 through 8 for homeroom representatives. Student council strives to serve both the school and the local community with a variety of projects throughout the year. Representatives are: Grade 3 — Michael Weiss, Katie Morgan; Grade 4 — Melanie Moran, Vincent Contardi; Grade 5 — Hayden Foland, Lauren Granteed; Grade 6 — Jonathan Renfer, Grace Holmes; Grade 7 — Chris Hine, Lyndzie Skronski; Grade 8 — Walker Cherry, Camryn Cassetori.
The annual WACtoberfest will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Susquehanna Brewing Company.
The Builders Club is a service organization for students in grades 5 -8 and is an extension of the Kiwanis Club, which is a global organization of volunteers which provides leadership and service opportunities for youth. This year’s officers for the Builders Club are: Tessa Romani, president; Samantha Yencha, vice president; Jill Foley, treasurer; Cassie Benderavich, secretary.
Donation to library
Community members can donate books to the school library to commemorate a special event such as birth of a child, a special anniversary or birthday or to acknowledge a special achievement. Books can also be donated to the school library in memory of a special relative or friend. A memorial such as this lasting one to pay tribute to that person. If interested in making a donation, contact Theresa Sabetta, librarian, at 570-654-7982.
During the summer months students participated in the Accelerated Reader Program at Wyoming Area Catholic. This program continues throughout the year which includes the summer. The following students were the top point earners for summer reading.
