JENKINS TWP. — The Greater Pittston American Wine Society is seeking amateur wine makers to compete in its amateur wine makers competition scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 at St Johns’s Lodge Hall, 498 Yatesville Road, Jenkins Township.
Amateurs that want to compete can register with the chapter by e-mailing greaterpittstonaws@gmail.com or by contacting Jim Powell at 570-237-6905 or Ed Perry at 570-313-0400.
The competition will be limited to the first nine amateurs and there is no registration fee. Each amateur will be required to provide three bottles of wine that they plan on entering; the competition will be a blind tasting and judging done by amateurs.
Guests mingle during the Greater Pittston American Wine Society chapter’s first meeting in January.
