Highways, roadways clear to kick off Memorial Day weekend

Those hitting the roads to pick up last-minute wares for backyard barbecues and other Memorial Day weekend festivities ought to face smooth sailing.

All the major highways and roadways are clear Saturday morning, including the traffic flow on Interstate 81, Interstate 80 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Routes 315 and 309 are clear as well.

Expect a bit of a sluggish go on Wyoming Avenue in Kingston as well as on Kidder Street in Wilkes-Barre. Otherwise, traffic shouldn’t be a problem Saturday in the Wyoming Valley.
