The parish will hold its fifth annual all-you-can-eat pig roast from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 17, on the grounds of the parish hall in the former St. Mary’s School, corner of Hawthorne and Spring streets. Takeout dinners will be available all day. The event will take place under a tent and in the school auditorium. The menu includes roasted pig on the spit, wimpies, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads, desserts, soda, and water. There will also be a cash prize grand raffle, basket raffle, children’s games and a bake sale. Queen of the Apostles parishioners will make a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy, Stockbridge, Massachusetts, with the Oblates of St. Joseph Laity Association on Monday, Aug. 22 to celebrate the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy and the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. The bus leaves at 7 a.m. from the Oblates of St. Joseph, 1880 Highway 315, Pittston, and departs at 5 p.m. from the shrine.
