PITTSTON — The Greater Pittston Cultural Coalition River Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 30 on the riverbank in Pittston.
Presentations include the Steamtown “Ring of Fire,” meeting Mrs. Thomas Jefferson, and learning about the history of the Knox Mine. There will also be food, music, dancing and children’s activities.
There will also be a kayak trip and reservations can be made until Thursday, July 28 by calling 570-388-6107. Kayak rental is $45, a tandem or canoe is $65, or bring your own kayak for $25.
Participants will meet at 10:30 a.m. on the West Pittston river bank by Water Street where a shuttle will take everyone to the Apple Tree boat launch in Harding. From there it’s a relaxing paddle back to the West Pittston river bank. Upon landing, everyone be taken over to the Greater Pittston Cultural Coalition River Fest on the Pittston river bank.
