PITTSTON — The Pittston Memorial Library Board of Trustees announces Kelly Carroll and Ann Noone as recipients of the Jean Yates Award.

Carroll was born and raised in Barto, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and King’s College where she received a BS in Government and Politics and an Associate Degree in Legal Assistant studies.

She is currently employed as the Human Resources Manager for Wyoming Valley Foot Associates and is a Notary Public. Carroll is a member of Queen of Apostles Parish, Avoca, former vice president of the Board of Trustees of the Pittston Memorial Library, a volunteer at the Care & Concern Free Health Clinic and a member of the Lackawanna County Federation of Democratic Women.

She resides in Avoca with her husband, State Representative Mike Carroll.

Noone is a graduate of St John the Evangelist High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She attended Luzerne County Community College, receiving credits in insurance and real estate and entered the business world as a secretary for two years to the executive director of Catholic Social Services Wilkes-Barre office, Msgr. Matthew F. Boylan and Msgr. Donald McAndrews.

In 2000, she joined the Joyce Insurance Group as the administrative assistant to Michael F. Joyce and eventually served as secretary to the executive board of the Pittston Memorial Library.

She retired from the Joyce firm in 2011 and took on the additional task of secretary to the Friends of the Pittston Memorial Library.

Noone is the widow of Thomas W. Noone, has ffive children and 10 grandchildren.

The Jean Yates Dinner will be Saturday, April 8 at Coopers Waterfront, 304 Kennedy Blvd. Tickets are $60. Checks can be made payable to the Pittston Memorial Library, 47 Broad Street, Pittston, PA 18640.
